Four hikers who lost their way along Killarney’s Lighthouse trail were rescued by the Coast Guard on Tuesday.
Rescue teams were alerted by Ontario Provincial Police that the four hikers — three females, one male and their dog — wandered off the trail, the Coast Guard said in a press release.
The inshore rescue boat stationed in Britt found the group.
“We located them at Tar Vat Bay,” Keith Pettinger, coxswain of the Britt Inshore Rescue Boat crew said. “It was a challenge to get in there to the shore where they were waiting. It is a very rocky area.”
The hikers were transported back to Killarney, all in good condition, the Coast Guard said.
